Gail writes: up north lavender farm in July
air was heavy with the smell of lavender. The bees were having a buzzing
good time. You could hear the buzzing as you approached the various patches. (I can see Gail chasing those bees to capture a photo in my mind)

their legs as seen in one photo were so heavy with gold pollen they could barely fly

MYSTERY?

Naida’s puppy, Sophie, brought this surprise to her a couple
days ago and gave her quite a start! At first glance Naida was horrified but
she did figure out what it is and would like to put the question to our
master gardeners.

Can you name this mystery, animal? plant? or mineral?

Missing Photos

Here’s the missing Brick Tree from the Trenton Tour…missed this set

Our favorite photographer is at it again. Thanks Gail, these are lovely:

Gail send me photos from the Trenton garden tour. She says: “saw a lot of variety in the style of gardening
note the bricks hanging in a tree these provide habitat for mason bees………The window box was hand made by the owner this was the home of an
older couple”
but don’t take a nap under this tree ha ha.

at this site they had a level due to a back door that allowed for some very ingenious
plantings………….a fairy garden, which from above you barely noticed.
they had a lot for the size yard they had and it seemed potting sheds were in every back yard

Naida said some have been interested in this; so we thought we would post it.

Several of you have been interested in my cordless 13″ B&D string
trimmer and I want to let you know they are on sale at Menard’s this
coming week. They are offering several cordless options – one a 20 volt
the other a 40 volt. I would only recommend the 40 volt as it will have
more power and run longer. These come with a battery and charger. The
40 volt trimmer is $10 off the regular price of $99.99 making it
$89.99. There is also a 11% rebate which brings the price down to
$80.09. I find I get about 20 minutes of weed whacking before the
battery runs down. I did buy a 2nd battery for mine and if you decide
to purchase a trimmer I would check out the 40 volt battery prices on
Amazon and compare to Menard’s or look for a sale.

I will say that this cordless trimmer has been one of my best
purchases! I have had mine for about 4 years now and
it still runs great. Oh, I would also recommend buying a 3 pack of the
nylon strings so you have extra on hand.

FOTO FRIDAY

A few weeks ago Gail sent me these spring shots. They may be late for now, but still very pretty.
